Gabrielle Hartley, nationally recognized as leading Family Law and Mediation Attorneys nationally. She’s known for keeping 99% of her cases out of the courtroom and at the negotiation table for over 25 years.

Gabrielle’s is passionate about helping people navigate divorce in a better way. After clerking in divorce court in New York City where she helped to resolve nearly a thousand high conflict divorces she opened her private practice.

Today Gabrielle provides top notch online mediation services to individuals looking for a better path forward. She founded Better Apart, LLC, offering full service online divorce mediation across the United States. She is the author of the best-selling Better Apart, The Radically Positive Way to Separate (HarperCollins 2019) which received a glowing cover endorsement from Gwyneth Paltrow and was named the “Conscious Uncoupling how-to” by People Magazine.

As a top divorce lawyer and mediator in America, Gabrielle is committed to the Positive Divorce Movement (™). Today, in addition to her Better Apart Online Divorce Mediation practice, she trains divorce mediators and recovering attorneys in The Better Apart Method so that they too can help their clients move on in a more sensible way.

Gabrielle is honored to be a vice chair on the American Bar Association’s (ABA) section of The Dispute Resolution Committee. She is also a member of the National Online Mediation taskforce working tirelessly to establish standards to uplevel the quality and standards of Online Mediation nationally. Gabrielle is also past editor of the ABA Just Resolutions Mediation Journal and has served as a member of the ABA Mediation Institute faculty.
